Champhai is a majestic city situated in the state of Mizoram, India. It is a border town in the state, in far eastern India. It is one of the eleven districts in the state, and the headquarters of the Champhai district. This city is located on the Lido-Myanmar border. It is the main business corridor for India and Myanmar in the area. Full of ancient relics, monuments, and memorials connected with legends and folklore, the city of Champhai has a background of rich culture and heritage.
The district came into existence on December 12 in 1997. It is located in the North East corner of Mizoram. Champhai district is divided into three Sub-Divisions, Champhai, Ngoma, and Khawzawl.
Situated in the beautiful state of Mizoram the city of Champhai is full of mesmerizing scenic beauty, colorful tribal traditions, orchids, and butterflies. Champhai boasts an excellent view of the Myanmar hills. Covering an area of 3,185.83 sq km, the city of Champhai has a population of 127,660. It has a special place in the history of the northeastern state and its people. According to the legends, it is said that the history of Mizo starts here and ends here.

There are many famous places to visit in the city like- Mura Puk, Rih Dil, Mullen National Park, Thasiama Seno Neihna, etc. The Champhai valley is known as “The Rice bowl of Mizoram ” A chain of lush green hills encircling luxuriant rice fields makes this city a heavenly place.
