Hampi is the second largest city in the world. As most of you know Hampi was the capital of the Vijayanagar Empire. Its located in the Bellary district. The area of Hampi is 4,187.24 ha and the buffer zone is 19,453.62 ha and inscription in 1986(10th session). The area of Hampi is simply stunning and it’s well worth the visit. Dating back to 1500AD, the magnitude of the ruins of the temple is the main attraction of this place, and its also known for its attractive architecture, preserved mountains, and market streets. Many villagers have located this historical side where agriculture is the main source of income of the villagers.

The season of winter ( October to February)  is the best time to visit this city. Because this time lots of Hindu religious fest organized. You can enjoy these festivals and also see their culture. This time the temperature levels also stay pleasant.

By air: Bengaluru is the nearest air link to Hampi and its located at a distance of 270 km. Another airport is Bangalore airport which is 300 km from Hampi.

By road: There are so many tourist buses, private buses, and state buses that are going from place to place so tourists can easily reach this place. By the way, bus services from all cities and towns are well connected in Hampi.

By rail: Hosapete is the nearest railhead from Hampi which is 13 km. Trains run to the station from different places in the country which are 10 daily trains and 5 special trains. Travelers can take a bus or taxi to reach there after reaching the Hosapete junction railway station.
