Hisar is the state of Haryana in northwestern India. It is the administrative headquarters of the district of the Hisar Division. This city serves as the district headquarters and it has four subdivisions that are Hisar, Barwala, Hansi, and Narnaud. It is an Arabic word and it means fort. Today, we know that it was originally called Hisar Firoza or & Hisar -e-Firoza & or in other words. It is an area of 3,983 km and its total population is 1,743931 ( as per the report of 2011). It is a beautiful city. Hisar was one of the largest districts of Haryana until its 1966 reorganization. Some parts of this city were Transferred to the newly created Jind district. This city is one of the five cities belonging to the Sarasvati Valley Civilization. As per the report of 2011, it is the second most populous of the 21
districts Of Haryana after Faridabad. It was founded by Firoz Shah Tughlaq, the Sultan of Delhi. The name Hi-sar-e-Firoz was given by Firoz Shah Tughlaq in 1354. This city was ruled by several major powers including The Maurya, The Tughlaq, and The British. After India got
Independence in 1947, it was unified with the state of Punjab. In 1966 when Punjab was divided it became a part of Haryana. The two famous rivers named The Ghaggar and The Drishadvati once flowed through the city. Most of the popular festivals like Diwali, Ram Navami etc are
celebrated in the city. The Festivals of jains, Christians, Sikhs and Muslims are also celebrated and Phag and Kartik Shan are special Festivals of this city.
It was blessed with so many beautiful things. Balsam, siswal, and Kanwar, are some of the beautiful sites of the city. The ancient river Drishadvati was flowing through Hisar. The Delhi sultanate era Firoz Shah Palace complex, Pranpir Badshad tomb, Krantiman park, etc are
located in the city. The whole view of this city is mesmerizing. People from India and as well as outside India come to visit this place.
