Kovalam is an area of Trivandrum City in Kerala, India. It’s located around 17 km south of the city center. The world-famous Kovalam Beach is situated in this area of Trivandrum City. Kovalam means a grove of coconut trees and true to its name the village offers an endless sight of coconut trees. It is a coastal city, known as the “Paradise of The South”. It has become a popular tourist destination due to all its beaches and great monuments. In fact, tourists often come here to mesmerize themselves with their beauty. How to reach

By Road: Kovalam is not so well-connected with many other cities of India by road. There are regular buses connecting this city to Trivandrum. Trivandrum is around 16 km from Kovalam. As there are no direct buses from other cities to there, catching a bus at Trivandrum is the best option for those wishing to travel by bus. Buses to this place can be boarded at the bus stand at East Fort. However, Trivandrum is well connected to several cities in India. Some of the major cities connected to Trivandrum by bus include Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, and Mysore. Operators include Golden Pearl Travels, Green Line Express, SRS Travels, Kerala Lines, Citi Tours, and KSBC Travels run buses between other cities and Kovalam.
By Train: Kovalam has no railway station of its own. As there does not have a railway station, the best option would be to catch a train to the railway station in Trivandrum. Because the nearest railway station is in Trivandrum, which is around 15 km away from this station. After reaching the railway station, you can easily hire a taxi or auto rickshaw, or catch a bus to this place. Some of the major cities connected to Trivandrum by train include New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Nagpur, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai.
By Air: Kovalam has no airport of its own. The nearest airport to Kovalam is in Trivandrum. It’s situated at a distance of 10 km. The “Trivandrum International Airport” is well-connected to several major cities in India as well as Asia. Many well-known air authorities provide their vehicles from this airport. Some of the major cities in India that have flights to and from Trivandrum include New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Kochi. Internationally, Trivandrum is connected to Sharjah, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Bahrain, Kuwait, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Colombo. After reaching the airport, you can easily hire a taxi or cab to reach Kovalam.
