Wokha is a commercial and agricultural center for the surrounding Naga Hills, where crops (mainly rice) and fruit are grown on formerly forested slopes. There are some craft workshops (weaving, pottery, carpentry). The city is connected to Mokokchung (Northeast) and Kohima by road. It was the site of much British colonial military activity in the 1880s. The wild, rustic, and ecstatic Wokha in central Nagaland is home to Nagaland’s largest tribe – the Lothas. It was in 1876 when the place was identified by the British, earning it its place on the tourist map of Nagaland. A district with rivers and hills like Mount Tiyi and Totsu Cliff, which is obviously still crowded with trekkers from different parts of the world. Otherwise, the place is a sight to behold with its carpet of colorful flowers and orchards. Attractions that must be explored during a holiday in this place are Liphanyan Governor’s Camp, Vankhosung, Doyang Hydroelectric Power Plant, and Water Pool.
