    History

    District Archaeological Museum

    In October 2001, the museum was opened and has been partitioned into three different sections. The Archaeological section is the first section, the Sculptural gallery is the second one and the Bronze gallery is the third. How the historic town contributed to the history of ancient as well as modern India, each of these sections shown in detail. One can glance at the tools and equipment that were used by humans in the period between 50000 and 5000 B.C, in the Archaeological section.

    Tools belonging from the Paleolithic, Neolithic, and also the later Stone Age as well are also exhibited in this section. Pottery from the Megalithic Age is also kept here in the Archeological section, and to human civilization, has been dated as belonging which gained prosperity between 1000 B.C and 3rd century B.C. You must make sure that you check out the coin collection of the Medieval period when you are at the museum. From the ruling period of the Satavahanas, Kakatiyas, Qutub Shahis, and Ikshvakus the collection includes coins.
