    Constructed by the Hall of Fame, the Hall of Fame is a museum that was built in memory of the brave Indian soldiers who laid down their lives defending the motherland in the Indo-Pak wars. At about a distance of 4km from the city of Leh, the Hall of Fame Museum is located on Leh-Kargil Road. To ensure the safety and security of our country, it stands as a reminder of the great sacrifices made by Indian soldiers.

    For foreign tourists who visit Ladakh, the Hall of Fame is a place of great attraction. To see what sacrifices the Indian Army has made to protect the country’s borders in Ladakh, every year hundreds of thousands of tourists come to the Hall of Fame. In Leh in 1986, the Hall of Fame was formed. With the achievements of the Indian Army in other military operations along with the Siachen Glacier in Ladakh and the wars in Pakistan in Kargil, the Military Hall of Fame Leh has also captured the art and culture of the region. Among the people, a patriotic spirit is promoted by this museum. As a major tourist hub, the Hall of Fame has been promoting tourism for the last three decades.

    History in Hall of FameBuilt by the Indian Army in memory of all the brave soldiers of India, the Hall of Fame is a historical center in the Indian state of Ladakh. The Hall of Fame has been included in the list of the 25 best museums in Asia, which covers the history of bravery and sacrifices of the Indian Army in Ladakh. In the country, the museum is among the top five museums.

    Fornt side view of Hall of FameOn the ground floor of the hall of fame, there is data about the brave soldiers who fought the Indo-Pak wars, on the two Storeys of the museum. Comprising weapons and documents, the Hall of Fame Museum additionally consists of objects from different wars.  Captured by the Indian Army during its wars with the Pakistan Army, the top floor of the Military Hall of fame Leh has guns and equipment. About the Leh culture, lifestyle, history, vegetation, and creatures, the hall of fame consists of the information that is found in this part of the country. Garments that were worn by the soldiers at a temperature of – 50ºCare showcased in room 15. A 30-minute film about the 1999 ‘Kargil War’ is also showcased in the museum.

    Entry & Others Fees

    To get access inside, an entry ticket of Rs25 needed to be purchased per person. Besides you need to pay an additional Rs. 50, for photography inside the museum.

    How to Reach

    By air: Very well connected with some major airports in India, including New Delhi, the closest airport is Leh Airport. To reach the destination from the airport, taxis can be hired.

    By Rail: At a distance of 812 km from Leh, the closest major railway station from Leh is Jammu Tawi. To reach Leh over Srinagar Leh Highway in a 3-day journey with overnight halts at Srinagar and Kargil, taxis can be hired from the railway station.

    From Leh via Manali Leh Highway, Joginder Nagar railway station is just 635 KM but is not a major one.

    By road: The most feasible option is to travel the distance between gurudwara and Leh by road. Between November and April, the road remains closed, so during that time, you should avoid going there.

    You must keep your snacks and water bottle with you. Be polite and don’t do any kind of activities which may disturb other visitors.
