    Jampore Beach is a notable attraction of Daman. Jampore Beach is located in the Moti Daman section of Daman and is about 5 km from Moti Daman Jetty. It is a long, wide beach with sand and ocean waves. For its black mud-colored water, the beach is famous. It is a perfect place for those who seek peace and solitude. The beach is away from the hustle and bustle of the city and hence, a great place to relax. There is the Bird’s Eye Garden of Casuarina at Jam pore beach.

    By Air: The nearest airports to Daman are Mumbai and Surat. Flights to Mumbai are easily available from all major airports in the country. Surat is connected by flight from Delhi. The nearest international airport is Mumbai. From the airport, one can hire a taxi to reach his desired place. 

    By Rail: The nearest railway station to Daman is Vapi, which is about 12 km away.  It is located on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route of the Western Railway and is about 170 km from Mumbai and 90 km from Surat. Major Delhi-Mumbai and Mumbai-Ahmedabad bound trains stop at this station. Travelers traveling to Daman by train can get down at Vapi and reach Daman by local bus or taxi, otherwise from the station, one can hire a taxi to reach his desired place. 

    By Road: Daman is easily accessible by road and is connected to some major cities nearby with a well-maintained road system. Vapi, at a distance of 12 km, is located on the Mumbai – Ahmedabad National Highway and is easily connected to Daman by road. The city is located 170 km from Mumbai, 360 km from Ahmedabad, 768 km from Diu, 110 km from Surat, and 300 km from Vadodara. 

    Tips for Travellers

    You can collect oysters, shellfish and other sea marks and swim or have fun in the sea, but don’t forget to protect it as its water is shallow.
