    The Jaswant Thada is a monument situated in the city of Jodhpur, under the state of Rajasthan, in India. It is made of marble and is popularly known as the Taj Mahal of Mewar. This cenotaph is a famous tourist attraction in the city of Jodhpur.

    History

    This monument was built in 1899 by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Which serves as the cremation ground for the royal Rajput family of Mewar.

     It is a historical landmark in the city. The cenotaph is built with intricately carved sheets of marble. Which are extremely thin and polished. So that it can emit an amazing glow when illuminated by the sun.

    The monument Jaswant Thada is a magnificent place. It looks gorgeous. The lush green trees perched tenderly on lakeside carved doms intricate make this place very eye-catching. It beholds the traditional fashion of Rajasthan.

    The ground of this place features carved gazebos, a tiered garden, and a beautiful small lake. 

    There are three more cenotaphs in the ground. The main cenotaph, the Maharaja Jaswant Singh cenotaph displays portraits of the rulers and Maharajas of the city of Jodhpur.
