    Khilanmarg is a small valley located within a walking distance of 6 km from Gulmarg.  It is located at an altitude of 2000 feet above Gulmarg which is one of the tourist destinations in the country.  The archway has one of the most beautiful views you can enjoy while staying here.  The whole place is surrounded by panoramic glimpses of some lofty Himalayan peaks.  The landscape of the archway is breathtaking and a once-in-a-lifetime sightsee.

An archway is a great place for offbeat travel enthusiasts as the place is not directly accessible by vehicle.  To reach this place you have to walk from Gulmarg or take a pony.  It climbs about 600 meters from Gulmarg to Khilnmarg.

    The archway blooms in spring and is covered with fragrant flowers and is a hotspot destination for winter skiing enthusiasts.  To add to this, the outstanding bare mountain peaks and the twin peaks of Nun Kun are also visible from the archway.

    You can have a clear view of the spectacular Nanga Parbat at an altitude of 8,137 meters, the fifth-highest peak in the world.  At 7,100 meters above the arch, you will find beautiful views of the twin peaks of Nun and Kun.  Other attractions that can be seen and enjoyed from Khilanmarg are the enchanted reservoirs of Jhilam, Dal, and Wular, and the Shankaracharya Temple.

    The whole place comes alive with the royal Himalayas in the background and making it a beautiful sight to behold.  There are many photographers nearby who are taking pictures and enjoying the view in this beautiful place, making the archway a delight for those who like to click on their cameras. One can go to their favorite place on horseback or walk around the beautiful meadows.

    How to Reach

    Khilanmarg does have Its own bus station, railway station, and airport. The nearest rail station or airports is located in Jammu and Srinagar. There is no direct road connectivity from any of the Towns. You need to cover the distance from the highest reachable point to Khilanmarg on foot or take a pony.
