    Lakshmi Vilas Palace is one of the greatest palaces in the world. Located in Vadodara city in the state of Gujarat it is the official residence of the Maharaja of Baroda. It is a very large and magnificent Palace. This is the largest private residence in India. Which is four times larger than Buckingham Palace. It is a major tourist destination for tourists all over the world. If you ever go to Vadodara you must visit this wonderful palace.

The compound of the palace is over 5000 acres and has a lot of buildings, mainly the LVP Banquets and Conventions, Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum, and Moti Bagh Palace. This palace has over 170 rooms. The construction cost of this palace was 1,80,000 pounds or Rs 27,00,000. Lakshmi Vilas palace took twelve years to build. A golf course was created by Maharaja Pratapsinh in 1930 for the use of his European guests. The former Ranji trophy cricketer, Samarjitsinh who was the grandson of Maharaja Pratapsinh renovated the palace and opened it to the public.

    The Gardens: William Goldring, a specialist in Kew Gardens, designed the gardens around the palace. There are human sculptures made of marble and bronze in the gardens.

    The LVP Banquets: A few years ago LVP Banquets was set up in a small building. Consisting of some small and big halls.

    The majestic Laxshmi Villas Palace opens from 10:00 am-5:00 pm. The Museum opens from 10:30 am-5: 30pm. It is open every day of the week except Monday. The visiting duration is 2 to 3 hours.
