Mattancherry Palace

Mattancherry Palace is situated at Mattancherry in Kochi under the state of Kerala, India. Mattancherry Palace is just 3.7 km from Kochi city. It is a Portuguese Palace which is also known as Dutch Palace. This palace has portraits of different kings. The palace was also included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. History

Gate to Dutch palace is a Portuguese palace in Mattancherry, Kochi.

The palace was presented to the King of Cochin by the Portuguese in 1545. But when the Dutch seized power, they decorated the palace more beautifully and made many more renovations, which is why the palace is also known as the Dutch Palace. And above all the British East India Company and Haider Ali took possession of this palace.
