    Mattancherry Palace is situated at Mattancherry in Kochi under the state of Kerala, India. Mattancherry Palace is just 3.7 km from Kochi city. It is a Portuguese Palace which is also known as Dutch Palace. This palace has portraits of different kings.  The palace was also included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. But it did include temporary branches. Mattancherry Palace is built in the Nalukettu style which is a quadrangular structure. There are many temples in this palace. There is also a temple in the courtyard of the Mattancherry Palace. The kings believed that this temple protected them.

    History

    Gate to Dutch palace is a Portuguese palace in Mattancherry, Kochi.

    The palace was presented to the King of Cochin by the Portuguese in 1545.  But when the Dutch seized power, they decorated the palace more beautifully and made many more renovations, which is why the palace is also known as the Dutch Palace. And above all the British East India Company and Haider Ali took possession of this palace.

The environment of this place is quite good. There are also two more temples on either side of the palace. One of them is a Krishna temple and the other is a Shiva temple.  The dining room of the palace is very interesting.  The whole dining room is made of a special type of wood, starting from all the things used in the dining room.  The floor of the Mattancherry Palace is also built in the traditional flooring style of Kerala.

    Ans: No, photography is not allowed inside Mattancherry Palace. The rules of this palace are maintained so strictly by the committee of Mattancherry Palace. So you cannot go with your camera inside the palace. You have to abide by their rules. 

    Que-03: Is there a parking facility in Mattancherry Palace?

    Ans: You can park your vehicles outside the palace. You don’t have to pay any extra charge for that. It is free of cost. 

    Que-04: Best time to visit Mattancherry Palace:

    Ans: Mattancherry Palace can be visited at any time throughout the year. But October to March is the best time to visit Cherai Mattancherry Palace. Between this time the weather of the city remains pleasant. During this time the weather of this city remains favorable for the visitors and on the other hand, this is not so hot or cool in between this time.
