Delhi has been blessed with so many historical monuments. Each monument tells a different story from the forgotten chapter of Delhi’s story. Mehrauli Archaeological Park Jamali Kamali is one of them. It is an archaeological area, which is spread over 200 acres in Mehrauli, Delhi. Jamali Kamali means one is the mosque and the other is the tomb and together as “Jamali Kamali” for the mosque as well as the tomb. they are buried adjacent to each other. in 1528-1529,

The mosque and the tomb were constructed. Later, Jamali was buried in the tomb after his death in 1535.

Jamali Kamali offers a fine piece of structural design. the park is one of the oldest places in Delhi and the area hosts a forest and the Mehrauli village behind it. History

Jamali” was the alias given to Shaikh Fazlullah. He is also known as Shaikh Jamali Kamboh or Jalal Khan. Also, he is a renowned Sufi saint who lived during Lodi Dynasty and the Mughal Dynasty. In Urdu the word ‘Jamali’ means beauty. Which originates from “Jamal.

He was a popular poet, and he traveled widely around Asia and the Middle East. during Lodi Dynasty rule he become a court poet and he continued to enjoy the patronage of the Mughal rulers. His poetry mirrored the Persian mysticism of the times. His two popular works are ‘The Sun and Moon and The Spiritual Journey of the Mystics’. Many people said that his tomb was completed during Humayun‘s rule.

according to the oral stories and traditions, Kamali was an unknown person, and he was Jamali’s disciple and lover. though they were both males, as signified by a symbolic pen box on each of their graves.

The whole view of this place is amazing. People from many places come to visit this place. This place

red sandstone with marble embellishments. Besides, inside this place, the prayer hall, which is fronted by a large courtyard, has five arches with the central arch only having a dome and the size of the arches increases towards the central arc. This park is painted in red and blue with some Koranic inscriptions. Also, the walls are adorned with inlaid colored tiles inscribed with Jamali’s poems. If you are there, do visit this park.
