    The Murlen National Park is situated in the district of Champhai, under the state of Mizoram, in India is one of the most important bird areas supporting various threatened species of birds like Hume’s pheasant, Hill myna, common partridges, Peacock, rumped swift, etc. Dominant flora and fauna Mullen National park covers an area of 77 sq mi. Several rivers,  rivulets, and brooks flow through the park providing abundant water to the wildlife animals and making this place very beautiful. It is one of the most visited places in the city.

    Murlen National Park

    Murlen National Park was established in the year of 1991. It is one of the most important bird areas. Which supports several threatened species of birds. This park is situated in the village called Mullen, which is the village of Saithuama Sailo, the chief of Hnahlan. Here you can find several wild animals also.

    Mullen National Park covers an area of about 77 sq mi. It is 245 km away from the state capital Aizawl and is close to Chin Hills. The tropical, semi-evergreen, and submontane Forests of this park are home to a rich variety of fauna and flora. Here you can find about 150 species of birds, 15 species of mammals, 35 species of medicinal plants, 2 species of bamboo, and 4 species of orchids. 

    Here you can find birds like dark rumped swift, Hume’s pheasant, Hill myna, common partridges, peacocks, sunbirds, pheasants, and many more and wild animals like- tiger, leopard, Himalayan black bear, straw, gibbon, Hallock, barking deer, wild boar, etc. There also exists a very large cave at one of the precipices, Thumkhuai Kham, where as many as 40 people could lodge in a night and has been frequented by different kinds of monkeys and other animals.

    How to Reach

    By air: The nearest airport to Murapuk is situated at a distance of 192 km away from Champhai. Which is the Lengpui Airport. It is well connected with the other cities in the country. From the airport, direct vehicles are available to Champhai.

    By train: Mizoram doesn’t have a railway station. The nearest railhead to Champhai is Silchar in Assam, which is located about 352 kilometers away from Champa. By this railway station, you can easily reach the city of Champhai and the place of Mura Puk.

    By road: Mizoram is well connected with the other states of the country. You can easily go there by bus. One can find several buses on this route. Which would be a long but enjoyable journey.
