    Pathiramnal is an island 15 km from Alappuzha and 1.5 km from Muhamma Boat Jetty. Pathiramnal is a sanctuary for hundreds of birds. Pathiramnal means midnight sand which is a small lamp in the local Muhamma panchayat.

    Attraction

    It is one of the most attractive places in the town. It is an amazing place. You need a speedboat to get here. It’s like seeing the surrounding scenery while traveling by speedboat from Alappuzha. The immense beauty of Vembanad Lake can be enjoyed by visiting Pathiramnal. Be sure to bring your camera because its natural beauty is like capturing a picture. You can plan a picnic with your family here.     History

    The Pathiramnal Island has been a unique monument of history since ancient times and is also known as Ananta Padmanavan Thorpe. Then Messrs. Bhimji Devji Trust of Cochin sold the trust to ACM Anthraper of Chevalier and in the late seventies, it was owned by Thaimtathil. The island was taken over by the government in 1979. It was later transferred to a private company and the issue of leasing was under consideration. It is known that then there was a settlement of 14 working families on the Island but now it is uninhabited.
