    The fantastic palace Prag Mahal is named after Rao Pragmalji II. He commissioned it and started the construction of the palace in 1865.

The beautiful mahal was designed by Colonel Henry St Clair Wilkins in the Italian gothic style. The ultimate construction cost of this palace was 3.1 million rupees with the joint contribution of both foreign and Indian workers. The mahal was completed in 1879 during the reign of Khengarji III, who was the son of Pragmalji as Pragmalji died in 1875. This dreamy palace is made of Italian marble and red sandstone from Rajasthan. In 2001 several damages happened to the palace because of the earthquake.
