The garden was made for maidens of the Princess of Maharana Sangram Singh. That is where the name came from.

The construction of Saheliyon ki Bari

was started in the 18th century between 1710 and 1734, especially for the Princess and her 48 maids who accompanied her after her marriage with Maharana Sangram Singh. So that they can have some pleasurable moments during their service to the Queen.

The King himself designed Saheliyon-ki-Bari. He gifted this excellent garden to his beloved Queen.

Saheliyon-ki-Bari or Saheliyon ki Bari or Garden of the Maidens is a major garden in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

The Saheliyon Ki Bari is beautified with some magnificent fountains in the four water pools along with statues of elephants made of marble. One of the most attractive features of this garden is the lotus pool.

The garden is full of greenery, beautiful flowers, and birds. The fountains of this garden were imported from England. Here you can see lush green lawns, flower beds, and excellent marble pavilions which look amazing.
