Swami Vivekanand Sarovar is also known as burha thalab and it means old lake. The musical fountain, the lake is also known. It is a tranquil place to visit fenced by a number of trees, especially palm trees. The lake is a jogger’s paradise and a popular picnic spot apart from that.

History

Swami Vivekanand was believed to have visited the lake for a bath every morning during his 2- year stay in Raipur according to popular belief and legends have stated. It is believed that he has rested beside the pool. The lake has been named after the great people, hence. The lake is getting polluted day by day, in recent times. The government is taking measures to restore its purity.

The reflection of this huge statue falls on the lake after sunset which is an absolutely gorgeous view. The colorful light illuminates the place and the fountain is brightly lit, in the evenings.
