History

According to legends, the plateau was the place where Thasiama’s Mithun would give birth to her calf. Considering the height at which Thasiama Seno Neihna is located, it is impossible for a Mithun to go up there even today. But the legends say that Thasiama had an affair with a fairy named Chawngtinleri and the fairy had bestowed a gift to Thasiama that his Mithun would multiply and make him rich and prosperous. The fairy herself would guide Thasiama’s Mithun to this plateau for delivering her babies safely, and also protect them all against the fierce tigers that inhabited the area.

The Thasiama Seno Neihna is a small plateau-like rock structure that protrudes from the side of a hillock. The top of the hillock can be reached by a long flight of steps. But it is not an easy task. It is quite difficult to climb the Thasiama Seno Neihna. The place is surrounded by lush greenery all around it which looks majestic and can make you feel happy.

By air: The nearest airport to Thasiama Seno Neihna is situated at a distance of 192 km away from Champhai. Which is the Lengpui Airport. It is well connected with the other cities in the country. From the airport, direct vehicles are available to Champhai.

By train: Mizoram doesn’t have a railway station of its own. The nearest railway station to Champhai is Silchar in Assam railway station, which is located about 352 kilometers away from Champa.
