Aizawl is the capital city as well as the largest city of the state of Mizoram in India. The city was officially established on 25 February 1890. It has a population of 293,416. It is also the center of administration containing all the important government offices, the state assembly house, and the civil secretariat. The population of the city is the Mizo people.
This city is situated north of the Tropic of Cancer in the northern part of Mizoram. It is situated on the 3715 above sea level, with the Tuirial river valley to its east and the Tlawng river valley to its west.
