Aurangabad, now officially known as Sambhaji Nagar, is a major city in the state of Maharashtra, India. Due to World Heritage, Ajanta, and Ellora caves, there is a large number of international tourists here. It a dream destination of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, founded in 1610, is now known as one of the four great cities of Maharashtra. The city has 1.2 million inhabitants (2011) and is heading for rapid industrial growth.
