Ghaziabad is one of the largest cities in the Indian State of Uttar Pradesh. It is also called the administrative headquarters of the Ghaziabad district and is a part of Delhi NCR. The city is divided into 5 zones. It has two major divisions, which are separated by the Hindon River. According to the City Mayors Foundation, it is the second fastest-growing city in the world and also well connected to other parts of India. It has a major rail junction in North India and is a part of Meerut, Division of Uttar Pradesh. This city is a part of the Indo-Gangetic plain, and it is also known as the land of Sapta Sindhu, which means Seven Rivers. The city has over 535 villages; the most spoken languages are Hindi, English, and Urdu. But Hindi is mainly spoken all over India. In 1740 AD, this city was founded by a Mughal emperor named Ghazi-ud-Din (ll), who served as a wazir in the court of Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah. He named it ‘Ghaziuddinnagar,’’ after his name. Then he shorten his present name to “Ghaziuddinnagar’ to Ghaziabad. He has done it because of the opening of railways in 1864. It has remained a picnic spot for the Mughal royal family during the Mughal era. On 14th November 1976, the then Chief Minister, Mr.N.D Tiwari, declared Ghaziabad a district on the birth anniversary of India’s first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. It is about 19 km east of Delhi and 46 km from Meerut. Ghaziabad developed as an industrial center, and in the late 20th century, Its population increased by more than a million between (1991 -2011). It has famous vegetable oil, diesel engines, railway coaches, glassware, pottery, heavy chains, lanterns etc. Besides, this city has played a vital role in the communication of railways. There are many famous mosques and tombs in Ghaziabad. People from many places come to visit here. The famous mosques are Nurani Masjid, Hazrat Bilal Market, Roshan Masjid, Gosiya Masjid, etc. The famous Temples are Dudheshwar Nath Mandir, Hari Mandir, Shri Hari Mandir, Bhairavnath Mandir etc.IMS Engineering College in Ghaziabad, Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology, and ABES Engineering Colleges are famous colleges in Ghaziabad. There are many famous foods in Ghaziabad. Tourists from many places come here to taste the famous items. The famous ice cream barfi, Muradabadi biryani, moonglet, egg lolo popo, Malai kulfi, etc. It is worth visiting. 

Best time to visit:

The ideal time to visit Ghaziabad is the months of October to November and February to March. These are the best times to roam around the city. During these times, the temperature is around 25° to 10° Celcius, which is perfect weather for visitors to visit the city. The winter season is the best time to visit this city and see the famous places.
