History

The 7th mile viewpoint is also known as Lover’s Point. It is said that the two lovers such as Teesta river and Rangeet river met with each other in this point. The viewpoint is famous for its natural beauty and wonderful hillside view with river flow. Department of Tourism should take initiative to popularized the hidden beauties of the places like 7th Mile Viewpoint of Kalimpong.

How to Reach

By Road: The 7th Mile Viewpoint is located 3km outside of Kalimpong. On the way to Kalimpong, you can see the beauty of the viewpoint from bus.

By Train: Kalimpong doesn’t have it’s own railway station. The nearest railway station of Kalimpong is New Jalpaiguri railway station. You can hire a taxy or cab to reach the viewpoint from station. You can also hire a taxi for daylong to visit the viewpoint and nearby places of Kalimpong.

By air: Bagdogra international airport is the nearest airport of Kalimpong. You can easily reach 7th Mile View Point by taking any local transport from the airport

Tips for Travellers

There is no time duration for the viewpoint. The point is open from morning to evening. It is about four kilometres one way from the trek. Please carry water bottles along with necessary things. Don’t wear long dresses.
