It was built in 1893 and named for Aligarh’s British civil servant of the Indian Civil Service (ICS) and district magistrate, J. H. Harrison.     The clock tower standing at Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) was completed in 1893 and named for Aligarh’s British civil servant (Bureaucrat) of the Indian Civil Service (ICS) and district magistrate J. H. Harrison. The architect constructed this clock tower by combining English and Muslim architectural designs.

The structure has four prominent sides and five floors and is built in stone and brick. Open arches support each vaulted roof. The clock tower was built to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of Sir Syed’s educational movement. The structure stands at a height of 90 feet and is visible from a distance. The tower, constructed with red sandstone, exudes a heavenly aura through its intricate carvings and motifs. Four pillars support the tower, and the clock is at the top of the building.
