    The ‘Andul Rajbari’ is a Rajbari (Palace) situated near Kolkata city in Andul, Howrah, West Bengal, India. The rajbari has become a heritage site of Andul by this time. The beautiful palace was built by ‘Raja Rajnarayan Bahadur’ in 1834. The constitution was Conducted by the Granville Macleod Company.
    However, Andul Rajbari lies forgotten, calling all history buffs to witness its bygone glory of Bengal m. She is, indeed, a sheer beauty that stands still in its grandeur as well as opulence. If you visit this place, you will feel the richness of this region. The curved shape of the design on the pillars whispers the aristocracy of Bengal as well as India.

    History

    Raja Rajnarayan Bahadur built the palace in 1834. However, it was made by the ‘Granville Macleod Company’. The palace is nearly two hundred years old. The royal family now owns a cinema hall and a nearby local market as well. During your visit, you can buy anticrafts from the market.

    The Andul Rajbari is a historical place situated that proudly whispers the bygone era of Bengal. It is nearly 200 years old. It is a huge structure constructed in the 18th century (1834). The Rajbari is now a heritage site, like the Andul Museum.

    During your visit, you can see the ‘Annapurna & Fourteen Shiva Temples Complex’ nested inside the Andul Royal Palace. It has tall pillars that hold the whole establishment, and the complex is a mixture of Medieval and Modern times.  There is a big space that can accommodate a lot of people, especially during the Durga Puja. The palace deserves serious attention from the authorities, yet the reddish tone of this building takes you back to two hundred years ago.

    How to Reach

    By road: It is situated in Howrah’s ‘Duillya’ area. From the busy area of Howrah, the Andul Rajbari is only 4 to 5 km away. Howrah is well connected with other major cities like Kolkata, Midnapore, Siliguri, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Mumbai etc. of the country. And from Howrah city, you will get local transport to reach the site.

    By air: The closest airport, ‘Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport’ (which is an international one), is almost 30 kilometers away from this area and is in Dum Dum, Kolkata. You can visit this place from outside of India. Apart from that, there are airports in Delhi, Mumbai, or Lucknow with direct flights to Kolkata. From the airport, you can easily get local transport to reach the site.

    By train: The closest railway station from the Andul Rajbari is only 1 km away at the ‘Andul railway station’. This station is well connected with major areas of the country. From the station, you will get local transport so that you can reach the site.
