    In 1998 coffee was introduced in the Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh by the British in Pamulern Valley in the East Godavari district. In the early 19th century it spread over to Araku valley and after independence, the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department developed coffee plantations in the valley.

    This is a famous hill station, located about 114 km from Visakhapatnam. The best way to reach this Valley from Visakhapatnam is by roadway and train. Considering the budget, it is better to travel by road to enjoy the waterfall, the beauty of the green valley, hillsides, tunnel, etc.

    By Road: The easiest way to get to the Araku Valley from Visakhapatnam is by bus. You can easily get private and state bus services from Visakhapatnam. You will also find many taxis or cabs at lower charges than private vehicles. You can also enjoy the beautiful scenery, waterfalls, tunnel, s, and hillsides of this Valley. It can take approximately three and a half hours to reach this Valley.

    By Train: Araku has its railway station, which is about 116 km from Visakhapatnam. From Araku Railway Station you can easily find several accessible buses to various tourist destinations near Araku. It may take about three and a half hours to reach Araku from Visakhapatnam railway station.
