    Bhewma Falls is known as the Amitabh Bachchan waterfall. It got its name after a Bollywood superstar, Amitabh Bachchan, who is very tall. The word Bhewma means “red snake” in the local dialect. Over the years, tourists have also started to refer to it as Lachung. IN.Sikkim Falls. It is one of the tallest waterfalls in Sikkim. It is situated on Shankar Road, which connects Chungthang to Yumthang Valley in Lachung, North Sikkim. It is approximately 13 kilometers from Lachung. It is one of the eminent tourist attractions in the northern part of Sikkim.

    Bhewma Falls is a 275 meters high waterfall. Obviously the falling scene of water looks highly outstanding. This is a three step waterfall. Its surroundings are covered with lush greenery, which makes it more eye-catching. A small view point set in front of the waterfall. From there, you can enjoy the view perfectly and safely. A tiny gate with a board written “welcome” welcomes its visitors. There is also a small ticket counter.

It is around 125 kilometers from Lachung. From the airport, first you need to reach Gangtok by taxi, which is 102 kilometers from the airport. From there, Bhewma Falls is about 13 kilometers. You need to drive around 1 hour to reach Bhewma Falls. Now, Sikkim has its own airport – Pakyong Airport. You can also go by this airport.

    By Train: New Jalpaiguri in Siliguri, West Bengal is the nearest railway station to reach Bhewma Falls. It is around 191 kilometers from Lachung. This railway station is well connected with the major cities like Kolkata and Delhi. From there, first you need to reach Gangtok by taxi which is 102 kilometers from the railway station. From there, Bhewma Falls is about 13 kilometers. You need to drive around 1 hour to reach Bhewma Falls. 

    By Road: Lachung is well connected with various cities like Gangtok (102 km), Darjeeling (169 km), Jaipaiguri (231 km), Mangan (51 km) by road. From Lachung, Bhewma Falls is about 13 kilometers. You need to drive around 1 hour to reach Bhewma Falls.
