Bhojtal is a large lake that lies on the western side of the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. It’s also known as Upper Lake and it’s a major source of drinking water for the residents of the city which is serving 40% of the residents with nearly 30 million imperial gallons of water per day.

They constitute Bhoj Wetland which is now a Ramsar site.

History

This place is built by Paramara Raja Bhoj during his tenure as a king of Mawla in 1005 – 1055 and the city of Bhopal was established by him. There is a history behind this place and this history is

One day king Bhoj suffered from a skin problem and all doctors failed to cure him one day a saint told him to build a tank to combine 365 tributaries and also have a bath in it to get rid of this skin problem. So after the number of. 365 merging the tributaries of this river this was completed.

This place view is so beautiful that you cannot imagine. In this lake, there is an attractive royal garden which is known as Kamla Park, and its surroundings are more scenic. This lake has also the dargah of a Maulvi and Shah Ali Shah. A boat club, aquarium, and walkway serenaded by a cool breeze make this place more beautiful.

You can go boating here and this time you can see the lake so closely and that’s so beautiful and there are so many stalls around the boat club selling food.
