Historical Place in Bhubaneshwari temple Arranged on the bank of Gomati at Udaipur in Tripura, Bhuvaneswari Temple in the renowned Hindu sanctuary. To be specific Rajarshi and Bisharjan, the Temple is deified in two of Rabindranath Tagore’s plays. Built by Maharaja Govinda Manikya, it is a rare specimen of temple architecture, which was constructed during 1660-1675 A.D, and is located near the old Royal palace of Maharaja Govinda Manikya. Udaipur was the official residence of the Manikya dynasty and the capital of the kingdom before shifting its capital to Agartala.

The Bhuvaneswari Temple Tripura is an uncommon example of sanctuary engineering, voyaging only 55 km from the capital city of Agartala. The sanctuary of Bhubaneswar at Tripura is situated close to the old Royal castle of Maharaja Govinda Manikya which was worked by Maharaja Govinda Manikya, built between 1660-1675 A.D. On a 3 feet-high cleared patio, this sanctuary is developed. With stupa-like crowns on the passage and center chambers, the rooftop includes the normal four-chaala style. With botanical themes of choice, the stupa in the center chamber is decorated. Formed by Rabindranath Tagore, it is the setting of the celebrated novel “Rajarshi” and the show “Bisharjan”, and that is the chronicled criticalness of this sanctuary.

How to Reach

By Air: Maharana Pratap Airport is the nearest airport in Udaipur, it is about 20 kilometers away from the city. It is well-connected by air to other cities in India.
