The Department of Forest & Wildlife, UT Chandigarh has developed Chandigarh Bird Park. It is situated at Nagar Van behind Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh. The motive of building this park was to raise awareness among the general public towards bird conservation, especially the young minds on nature education and conservation. There you can find various kinds of birds which make this place colorful and extraordinary.

    Chandigarh Bird ParkThe main attraction of this park is the birds. Here you can find Budgerigars, African Love Birds, Black Swans, White Swan, Wood ducks, Golden Pheasant, Sun Conures, and African Grey Parrot, Finches, Yellow Golden Pheasant, Melanistic Pheasant, and Green Wing Macaw. It also has some different species of exotic birds like Aquatic, Terrestrial, and Tamed. This place gives you the opportunity to interact with the bird from a close distance.

    There is a cafeteria at the exit point where you can enjoy snacks and drinks comfortably while sitting on a chair and enjoying the beauty of the place. 

    History

    The bird park Chandigarh was inaugurated on 16 November 2021 by Smt. Savita Kovind, Hon’ble First Lady of India. It has been created for the exotic birds which are commonly bred in India.

    Chandigarh Bird ParkThe Bird Park Chandigarh provides ample space for all the birds with 58 feet flying height and with a total ground area of approx. 200×150 feet each for terrestrial birds and aquatic birds. The Park is designed in a way that it surrounds about thousands of varying canopies that give a great habitat, and shelter and provide food for the birds. For that, they can freely fly and breed.
