    Chaturbhuj Temple Orchha is situation at Orchha in Madhya Pradesh, India which is dedicated to lord Vishnu. This chaturbhuj is combined of chatur which meaning is four and bhuj meaning is arms.
    That means who has four arms and refers to Lord Ram an avatar of Vishnu.

    History

    Chaturbhuj Temple completed in 16th century and its constructed by Bundela Rajputs of the kingdom of orchha. Its construction was begun by Madhukar Shah and completed by his son.

    The people of this place said that, madhukar shah’s wife had a dream visitation of lord Ram directing her to built a temple for him. The queen went to ayodhya to procure his idol and when he returned she kept the idol in her palace as the temple was under construction. After the temple was completed, when she try to shift the idol, the idol would not move. So, an idol of Lord Vishnu was placed in the sanctum sanctorum.

    Chaturbhuj Temple OrchhaThe Temple is constructed on a huge podium almost 15 feet high. It soaring Shikharas seem to extend upwards to the clouds and To reach the entrance to the time the visitor has to ascend a wide flight of stairs.
    In this temple the outside walls of this temple have intricate decorates of lotus designs and religious symbols. Takeo Kamiya, who is well-known Indian architect describes the mandapa or pavilion as in the Islamic style with a cross shape.
