    It is about 8 kilometers away from the Cantt Railway Station in Varanasi. In June 2009, It was declared as a monument by the Archeological Survey of India.

Later, the son of Raja Todar Mal, named Goverdhan, modified it into an octagonal tower during the visit of Humayun, the Mighty Mughal Ruler. The tower is so beautiful that you can’t take your eyes off it.

    Chaukhandi Stupa was built during the Gupta Period.
    Though it is a Buddhist monument, people from many places come to visit here. Firstly, this Buddhist complex was Built as a terraced Temple. Then during the 7th and 8th century, Buddha and his first disciples met there while traveling from Bodhgaya to Sarnath. Then, The son of Raja Todar Mal, named Goverdhan, changed the shape of this monument and modified it into an octagonal tower during the visit of Humayun, the Mighty Mughal Ruler.
