History

Numerous stories about the significance and greatness of Shah ji Miyan are available to the locals.

One of the stories is like: Once a devotee of Shah ji Miyan went for a sea voyage. In the middle of the sea, a dangerous storm arose. Everyone on the ship got scared. That devotee of Shah ji Miyan closed his eyes and started praying for help to Shah ji Miyan. In his prayer he saw Shah ji Miyan help the ship by his shoulder against drowning. Suddenly he noticed everyone happy in the ship. He saw strom stopped and his companions said they were out of danger now. First of all, he met Shah Ji Miyan when he reached Pilibhit and saw that his shoulder was bleeding. Then he asked him about it and Shah ji Miyan told him to not gossip about it to others.

A Dargah is mainly a graveyard of a religious figure like Sufi saint. This place of praying includes mosques, Islamic religious school or medication. Dargah Shahji Miyan is a colorful, eye-catching building. The graveyard of Shahi Miyan is covered with Chadar (a long piece of cloth) and full of flowers. The walls of the Dargah are nicely painted and decorated with different kinds of colorful charms.
