With its neo-Gothic and neo-Classical architecture, the Darjeeling Clock Tower, a colonial masterpiece that was constructed in 1850 as a part of the Municipality Building, captivates. In the center of the town, at the intersection of Gandhi Road and Ladenla Road, is the 100-foot-tall stone tower. Known locally as the “Ghanta Ghar,” it serves as a meeting place, a timepiece, and a reminder of Darjeeling’s rich history. A visit to this quaint building provides sweeping views of the surrounding hills and a window into the past of the area.
