History

It is a natural waterfall, and not much historical information has been found regarding this fall. This place is not so populated, and even fast-food restaurants have been built recently.

The waterfall is 40ft high, and now you can imagine that it must be very beautiful, especially during the monsoon. There is a tube well there from which you can collect water for drinking. The water is cold water as there is rocky terrain. If you want to bathe there, you can do so as it is like a swimming pool. The nearby drinking water and parking system are available. While walking through the forest, you might witness wonderful forest scenery; animals like deer and birds like peacocks make the place even more attractive.
Those who are nature lovers must visit this place at least once. One of the caves, named ‘Bad Idhar,’ is just at the top of the waterfall where saints once lived. If you ever visit Cuttack, you should visit Deojhar waterfall too.

By road: It is situated in the ‘Cuttack-Narshingpur Road’ area. From the busy area of Cuttack, Deojhar waterfall is nearly 100 km away. Cuttack is well connected with other major cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, etc. And from Cuttack City, you will get local transport to reach the site.

By air: The closest airport, ‘Biju Patnaik International Airport’ (which is an international one), is almost 105 kilometers away from this area which is Bhubaneswar, Odisha. You can visit this place from outside of India. Apart from that, there are airports in Delhi or Lucknow that offer direct flights to Bhubaneswar. From the airport, you can easily get local transport to reach the site.

By train: The closest railway station from the Deojhar waterfall is nearly 1oo km away at the ‘Cuttack Junction’. This station is well connected with major areas of the country. From the station, you will get local transport so that you can reach the site.
