    Deolo View Point is famous for its fascinating sunrise and sunset vistas, coloring the sky with resonant colors and establishing a surreal ambiance. During the sunny weather, it provides you with the whole view of Kalimpong town, but this view isn’t available in the cloudy weather. Deolo View Point is standing here at the height of 1914 meters. Two big-sized water tanks that control the water supply to the Kalimpong remain at this point. The meeting point of the Teestha and Rangeet rivers is known as the point that manages the drinking water supply. They also provide Horse rides and Paragliding for the visitors. It has a tourist lodge maintained by Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council.

    From this viewpoint, one can capture a fantastic view of Mother Nature. If you are standing at this point, it means standing at Kalimpong’s topmost end. Looking outside, you can also enjoy the marvelous views of mountains covered with snow, the Teesta Valley, and the complete Kalimpong town. The view is peaceful. It gives you a heavenliness atmosphere. Also, it offers the atmosphere of breathing in the wavy mountain air and enjoying the soft breeze. You can lose yourself in the tranquility of the elevated paradise.

    History

    According to some stories based on the rivers, the two rivers fell in love with each other, and they used to meet at the place named Beni of Kalimpong, which was then known as Lovers Point. A famous fair takes place in Beni every year on 14th February, which holds significant importance. The place is also renowned for arranging adventurous activities such as River Rafting; in this way, Teestha is used as a starting point.

    Inside/Outside Views

    It is the best place for family outings. Inside the park, There are lots of exciting things for the kids. The park displays numerous Dinosaur models, and kids enjoy this display. Many experimental models of science and technology are also displayed there. The kids enjoy scientific inventions that improve their knowledge about the history of humanity. At the same time, they can also get a view of Jurassic Park. A 3D show of the dinosaurs’ evolution is displayed here, costing 30 rupees per person. Documents mainly based on physics and chemistry demonstrate a variety of scientific experiments. There is no entry fee for this. There are so many activities that you will enjoy, including Paragliding and Horse riding. Paragliding costs RS 4000/- per person, and horse riding costs Rs 500/- per person. A pay-use toilet with Rs 5/- per person is also available. Besides, It has a children’s park. They also organize a luxurious resort for upper-class families.

    How to Reach

    By road: The distance between Kalimpong Bus Stand and Deolo View Point is about 4.8 km. One can easily reach this monastery from this bus station by taking a Cab or any local transport. It takes approximately 16 minutes to get to the monastery from the bus stand. It’s only 626 km away from Kolkata city, West Bengal

    By Train: Kalimpong doesn’t have a railway station. The nearest railway station to Kalimpong is New Jalpaiguri railway station. The distance between the railway station and Deolo View Point is about 120.9 km. It takes approximately 3 hours and 52 minutes to reach the monastery.

    By air: Bagdogra International Airport is the nearest airport to Kalimpong. You can easily reach Deolo View Point by taking any local transport from the airport.

    Tips for Travellers

    Please try to visit the park during sunny weather and wear sneakers instead of shoes. You must carry your essential thisng along with a small water bottles.
