    Dungeshwari is situated at Bodh Gaya city in Gaya under the Magadha division in the state of Bihar, India. Actually, there are some cases where there is a Temple for Buddha and Dungeshwari. In another cave next to it, a 6 feet high statue of Buddha has been made. There are three (3) caves in total. The other one has a statue of Goddess Dungeshwari. The ancient name of Bodh Gaya was Uruwela. Buddhists consider this place very sacred. There are many reasons why this place is so sacred. The Buddha spent a lot of time in this place during his life.  Here he acquired knowledge from Pala Bodhi. Bodh Gaya is situated near the Lilajan River. The Buddha is practicing suicide six times in this place.
