History

Champawat is considered the primary origin of Golu Devta. “People consider him as the deity of justice.”. According to history, He is the brave son of King Jhal Rai and his wife Kalinka. His mother was also believed to be the sister of local deities named Harischandra and Devjyun. They are regarded as the Lord’s uncle. There is another story behind This; it is believed that he was the general in the army of Chand king Baz Bahadur. He is also known as ‘Gwala’ menas herder of cows. There is a famous saying among the people that if you tie up. A bell in a cow’s neck equals 1000 bells in a holy temple.
