    One of the most beautiful Picnic spots, Gudguda Waterfall is located in Sambalpur, in the Indian state of Odisha. Many peoples flock to this place from neighboring towns like Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and even Rourkela too, though Gudguda comes under Sambalpur District.

     

    Attraction

     

    You can find many Mango and Litchi Orchards on both sides of the roads, as soon as you are about to enter the spot. You can also hear the gushing sound of a waterfall along with birds chipping. As it is a very peaceful place to spend your day away from your hectic and busy life you will no doubt love it.  You need to cross a small waterfall before entering the exact spot, which can easily be crossed if you have a four-wheeler.

    To reach the spot it takes only 1.5 hours from Jharsuquda. After you cross Kolabira Village the Roads are very fantastic. The journey to this place is very pleasant. After  Kolabira Village it will be very hard for you to get any vehicles. With a deep forest, this place is fully covered.

    The water flowing in these falls is extremely chilly, as waters are hardly exposed to sun rays as it is overcast on all sides. There is three step by step waterfalls,  through the rocks, which have been beautifully carved. For Mountain Trekking, this place is also good

    Entry & Others Fees

    There is no entry fee needed to get access inside the waterfall although you will have to pay a minimal fee for parking your vehicle. You will have to pay Rs 20 for two-wheelers and for four-wheelers 50 Rs is needed to pay.

    How to Reach

    By Air: To other major cities of the country, Sambalpur is not very well linked via regular flights. In Raipur, Raipur Airport the nearest airport is located at about a distance of 232 km.

    By Train: From other major cities of the country, you can easily get regular trains to Sambalpur. Sambalpur railway station at Sambalpur city is the nearest railway station. 

    By road: Sambalpur is also not very well connected to the other parts of the state through the roadway. From the nearest cities such as puri, and Bhubaneswar, you can hire public or private transport to reach the city of Sambalpur.

    Tips for Travellers

    Whenever you plan to visit this place, don’t forget to carry Trekking shoes along with you. Daytime is ideal to visit the waterfall as it is unsafe to visit the waterfall at night for trekking as well as due to the presence of wild animals in the forest area. It is also suggested that you should avoid visiting the place during the rainy season.
