    Gulmarg Wildlife Sanctuary has located about 48 km from Srinagar.  Blessed with infinite natural beauty, this paradise contains species of plants and animals, which are unfortunately now endangered or almost extinct.  The main attraction of the Gulmarg Biosphere Reserve is the presence of musk deer.  Other animals to see here are brown bears, black bears, red foxes, and leopards. Gulmarg Wildlife Sanctuary is a joy for bird watchers, as the reserve is home to a wide variety of resident and migratory birds.  Partridges, vultures, snowflakes, blue rock pigeons, Kashmir rollers, Eurasian hoopoes, jungle crows, and many more colorful, glowing birds can be seen here.  Several coniferous trees grow in this reserve.  The main species are Cedras deodara, Pinas Griffith, Abies alba, and Aesculus indica.  The number of shrubs and herbs enhances the beauty of the wildlife reserve and makes the air cooler and fresher by turning their magic wands.  Natural air will embrace you, and revive your senses and green will not fail to raise your spirits.  Fantastic wildlife and bird, and tree views will take you to a completely different world, give you peace, give you peace of mind.

    Attraction

    The vegetation of Gulmarg Wildlife Sanctuary consists mainly of Silver Fur (Abyss Pindro), Silver Birch (Betula Utilis), and Blue Pine sub-alpine forest.  Silver Ferti is confined to humid areas and is associated with Pinus griffithii, Taxus wallichiana, and Picea smithiana at lower elevations.  Silver birch is scattered over mountain ranges that border alpine pastures between 3,000 m (9,800 ft) and 3,500 m (11,500 ft).  At low altitudes, Pinas Griffith predominates in the blue pine forest surrounding Gulmarg Resort.  These are mixed with spruce – Picea simthiana, MapleAcer Cappadocia cecumand yew – Taxus wallichiana.  Alpine meadows are dominated by a variety of medicinal plants.  These include Corydalis, Inula, Potentilla, Primula, Gentiana, Rumex, and Iris.  Daffodils and jonquils of the species Narcissus, which were introduced, have become commonplace.  The sanctuary contains valuable resources of medicinal plants such as Sasuria Costas (Jogi king), Picrohija curoa, and Jurinia dolomia.       The Gulmarg Wildlife Sanctuary has 95 different species of birds including the Kashmir Flycatcher (Fisedula sabrubra), Himalayan Snowcock (Tetraogalus Himalayansis), Impian Monal (Loforus Impejanas), and Cockles (Madras).  31 species of butterflies have been reported from the sanctuary.

    History

    Gulmarg Wildlife Snactuary, GulmargGulmarg Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, India, covering an area of ​​180 sq km (69 sq mi).  The sanctuary is located northeast of the Pir Panjal mountain range and falls to the northeast of a zip graph 2A.  The sanctuary was first declared a game reserve in 1981 and later upgraded to a sanctuary in 1987.

    Gulmarg Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for its wildlife.  The mammals found in the sanctuary include the Himalayan brown bear (Ursus arctos), Asiatic black bear (Ursus the botanas), cheetah (Panthera pandas), musk deer (Moschus chrysogastor), Kashmir gray langur (S).  Tibetan wolf (Canis lupus), red fox (Vulpes), cheetah cat (Prionilurus bengalensis), jungle cat (Felice Chaus), and yellow-necked marten (Martes clavicula).  The sanctuary serves as a natural corridor for the movement of brown bears and markhors between the Punch and Kashmir Valley forests.
