    The Gurguripal Eco Park is a forest area connected to the Midnapore forest division on the ‘Midnapore – Jhargram road. A thick cover of valuable ‘Sal trees’ abounds in this forest park. The distance of Gurguripal Eco Park from Midnapore is 12.3 KM only (by road). From Midnapore, you have to take a cab or bus or any local transport to reach Gurguripal Eco-Park.
    It is a forest in its natural state with the mesmerizing beauty of greenery. There is a watch tower too, where you can look at the distant view. This currently looks like an abandoned park, yet it is an ideal getaway from the humdrum of busy and monotonous day-to-day activities. After entering through the main entrance, you can look up to the resting spots, the walkways, the street lamps, the watchtower, the boating facility, and the beautiful thousands of Sal trees.

    Gurguripal Eco Park is a part of the ‘Gurguripal reserved forest.’ Here, you can see the Shal, Mohua, Palash, and many other trees inside this forest.     Much historical information has not been found regarding this eco park. However, this eco park was developed more than 10 years ago. But due to lack of proper maintenance from concerned authorities this beautiful place is not that good today. However, this place has served as a recreational spot for years for the locals. The nature lovers find it interesting to enjoy the beauty of the Sal trees.

    Gurguripal Eco Park is located just off the ‘Medinipur – Dherua’ Road, about 10 to 12 km from Medinipur, and is a quaint forest area around a few water bodies to enjoy. It is, indeed, an ideal getaway from the humdrum of everyday activities. However, this eco park was developed more than 10 years ago. However, due to negligence from concerned authorities, this beautiful place is not in such good condition today. The main entrance, the resting spots, the street lamps, the boating facility, the walkways, the watchtower, everything needs maintenance today. But despite the maintenance issue, this park is a good choice for anyone. The Sal and Mahua trees can take you to another world.     By air: The closest airport, ‘Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport’ (which is an international one), is almost 147 kilometers away from this area and is in Dum Dum, Kolkata. You can visit this place from outside of India. Apart from that, there are airports in Delhi, Mumbai, or Lucknow that offer direct flights to Kolkata. From the airport, you can easily get local transport to reach the site.

    By train: The closest railway station from the Gurguripal Eco Park is only 23 km away at the ‘Kharagpur Railway Station’. This station is well connected with major areas of the country. From the station, you will get local transport so that you can reach the site.
