    Har ki Pauri is one of the famous ghats of Ganga in Haridwar and it’s a place where grand Ganga arati is performed in the presence of thousands of people. This is the place where its believed that Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu visited the Brahmakund. Har ki Pauri means the steps of Shiva and this is Where Ganga enters the mountains from the plains.

    History

    King Vikramaditya is said to have built it in the 1st century BC in memory of his brother Bharthari. He had come to meditate here on the bank of the Ganges and an area within har ki Pauri where the evening Ganga aarti takes place. It’s considered the most Sacred known as Brahmakund and It’s considered to be the spot Where the drops of Amrit fell over from the sky while being carried in a pitcher by the celestial bird. Evening in this ghat witness hundreds taking dip water of the Ganges.

    In 1938 the extension of the ghats took place and Hargyan Singh Katara did this.
