History

Hooghly Imambara mosque is a symbol of the rich culture and heritage of the town. It is a historical landmark.
The money was given to build this mosque by the greatest philanthropist Hazi Muhammad Mohsin(1732-1812). It was built in the mid 19th century. The architecture of this mosque is in do-Islamic architecture. Its peaceful environment, combined with its architectural beauty and cultural activities makes it a must-visit place.
