    The Indira Gandhi Smarak Vanaspati Udyan is a tribute of love as well as respect that the people of Raebareli carry towards our First Lady Prime Minister of India Smt. Indira Gandhi. This spectacular garden is very famous and expands over a huge area of 57 hectares but out of which only 10 hectares of land is utilized till date. The uncultivated land is, however, under improvisation. As a result, it is continuing to grow every day.

    This Indira Gandhi Smarak Vanaspati Udyan general purpose is to maintain the ecological balance, to maintain diverse plant species, and to educate people about various plant species. With all these purposes, it was established in 1986. and the garden continues to grow various plants scientifically even today.

    Indira Gandhi Botanicali Garden have been created with the purpose of conserving the near-extinct plant species, restoring them, and educating people about their resistance as well as importance. Because, a drastic reduction in forest cover and human interference has taken a heavy toll over the existence of various plants worldwide. The botanical gardens not only preserve nature but also improve human livelihood in turn.

    Botanical Gardens like Indira Gandhi Memorial Botanical Garden offer a cure to various environmental issues, conserve flora biodiversity, and demonstrate well-researched scientific methods to cultivate plants. These forefronts make it clear why nearly one-third of the world’s plants exist in botanical gardens.

    The Indira Garden is artistically crafted with various sectional gardens and landscapes. There is a beautiful rock garden that exhibits colorful plants grown amidst rocky terrain. It is also home to ‘114 medicinal plants belonging to 23 different species. Some of these plants are neem datura kaner, Jamalghota, etc. Besides these, there are seasonal herbs and flowers that really adorn the garden panoramically. Further advantageous are the ‘economically’ important plants that serve to improve human livelihood and yield profit. A separate corner is also dedicated to all sorts of ‘bulbous plants like tulips, ginger,’ onion,’; garlic,’ etc. The bulbous plants form an ornamental pattern and are ‘herbaceous perennials’ that are beneficial to us.

    The Botanical Garden, this is why, serves as a ‘tourist hotspot’ in Raebareli. It is now one of the top three tourist destinations here that travelers should visit without fail. This garden has beautiful landscapes and parks that beautify the terrain and take you one step closer to nature.

    The ‘Indira Gandhi at Indira Gandhi Botanicali Garden’ was established in 1986 in order to restore the ecological balance.

    It is situated on the left side of LucknowVaranasi’ highway. The garden is situated on the northern bank of ‘Sai’ river.

    This Indira Gandhi Botanicali Garden is not solely a place to grow various plants and vegetables rather it aims at spreading educational awareness among students as well as researchers. The staff has expertise and is well equipped to incorporate the most advance ways of horticulture and plant cultivation.

    In the west of this garden ‘Raebareli– Allahabad’ railway Line runs parallel to ‘LucknowVaranasi’ highway. The total proposed area of the park is huge (57 hectares), out of which 10 hectares have been developed till now. However, it is growing day by day. The purpose of this garden is not merely to make it a place for growing flowers, fruits, vegetables or any other plants but also an educational installation for scientists, researchers, students as well as the general public for awakening interest in plant life.

    The Indira Gandhi Botanicali Garden could be easily reached by driving (through the Varanasi-Lucknow Highway). Towards the west side of this botanical garden, runs a railway line of ‘Raebareli-Allahabad’ almost parallel to ‘Varanasi-Lucknow’ highway.

     By Air: The nearest Airport is Lucknow, which is approximately 85 kilometers from Indira Garden. Local transports are available to reach the site.

    By Train: The nearest Railway Station is ‘Raebareli junction’, which is approximately 14 kilometers from Indira Garden. You can take local transports to reach the site.

    By Road: The nearest Bus Station is Raebareli, which is nearly 15 kilometers from Indira Garden.
