ISKCON Brahmapur, Odisha is one of the main attractions of the town. It mainly attracts the Krishna devotees around the world. Lord Krishna and Radha Rani are honored here. The main attraction of this Temple is the Krishna Jarmasthomi. Devotees from many places come to visit ISKCON Brahmapur and pray and seek blessings of lord Krishna. This time, the Temple was decorated with many flowers, lights, paper, etc. The idol of Lord Krishna is decorated with a long Garland, Chandan, etc. Different types of cultural programs are going on these days. Devotees offer different types of foods, laddoos, etc. The Laddo is Lord Krishna’s favorite dessert. It is a very peaceful place where you can spend many hours without getting bored. The staff and the other members of the Temple are so supportive and loyal.

History

A long time ago, Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu passed through Berhampur during his South India tour. There is a village named ‘Nimaikhanada’ Where he took some rest under a tree near a Mishra Bandha Pond. Then, the villagers took him to the village. He rested under a big neem tree and chanting the holy name of krishna. One night, the family of Misha had a dream where they got instructions from Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to build a Temple for him. That’s how the temple was built.

It is well decorated and so peaceful. The entrance of this temple is very big and clean. The deities of this temple are so wonderful, and that’s why devotees are attracted to it. The environment is so divine and peaceful. Stepping into this temple, you can feel a strong feeling and a positive vibe, and it gives you the strength to overcome all your problems. The Priests are very knowledgeable and humble. Outside the temple, there are shops available to buy anything. The View is from the temple is absolutely amazing. The people are honest about this temple, especially those who are engaged in the work. The temple remains crowded all over the week, but on special days, it becomes more crowded. It is the perfect place to go with your family.
