    Its located on the banks of river Betwa. Its a three storied structure which is a blend Islamic and hindu architectural styles.

    Jahangir Mahal is one of the most popular historical monuments in Orchha. This mahal was built in memory of the Mughal ruler Jahangir by King Vir Singh Deo in the 17th Century. This mahal is known by many names like: Orchha Palace, Rani Mahal, Mahal-e-Jahangir, and Citadel of Jahangir. Ruler Vir Sing commissioned around 52 forts during his reign of 22 years and today. The palace is under the aegis of The Madhya Pradesh Archeology department

    Jahangir Mahal OrchchaInside this mahal, it’s made up of chambers and open galleries, all of which are connected by a passageway. The austerity of the exterior walls, those inside are inlay work of lapis lazuli, glazed tiles, and trellis work. The reason behind the construction of this mahal was to honor Jahangir on his first visit to Orchha. In this storied building, elements like marvelous sculptures, delicate trellis, chhatris, hanging balconies, topped domes, etc, represent excellent architectural brilliance
    Outside this mahal, the ground is well decorated and evening time the weather looks more beautiful than any other times especially the sunset view.

    By road: It’s the most comfortable way I think. You can take a bus to reach Orchha and hire a cab to reach any places of Orchha.

    By air: Heliport is the nearby airport to reach orchha. After reach this city you can hire any vehicles to reach Jahangir mahal.

    By rail: First you have to go to janshi station as orchha city  has no railway station. After reach janshi you can hire a autorickshaw to reach orchha.  The distance between janshi and orchha is nearabout 18 kilometers.
