    The Jai Vilas Palace could be a nineteenth-century palace in Gwalior. This palace is also known as Jai Vilas Mahal and it was established in 1874 by Maharajadhiraj Shrimant Jayajirao Scindia Alijah Bahadur, The Maharaja of Gwalior. 

    The size of this palace is 1240771 square feet and was designed by Sir Micheal Filose.

    History

    In 1874 by Maharaja Jayajirao Scindia, Jai Vilas Palace was the residential property of the royal family of Scindia. This palace was converted into a Museum by Rajmata Shrimant Vijayaraje Scindia in the memory of Sriman. 

    On 12th 1964 December the president, Dr.Sarvapally Radhakrishna of India inaugurated the S.H. Maharaja Jiwajirao Public Museum Scindia.

    This palace is one of the most beautiful attractions in India and there is a well-equipped library in the Museum that contains Around 5000 books. This place is also known to house a collection of gadgets and antiques coming from the old times.

    This place was divided into different sections which depended on the type of collection of the preserve.
