    Situated in the Baqipur village of Moradabad, the Jama masjid is one of the oldest and most beautiful mosques in Uttar Pradesh. It is a holy place for Muslims to worship. Here, they say their prayers five times a day. It is a unique masterpiece and the highest mosque in Moradabad. It is situated on the bank of the ‘Ram Ganga‘ river. It is an elegant and excellent piece that belongs to Mughal architecture.

    Thousands of Muslims offer prayer here on Friday at Jama Masjid in a peaceful environment. The tranquility of this place makes it a great place for performing namaz and reciting the holy Quran.     History

    Moradabad was established as an office for the ‘Chaupala pargana’ during Mughal Emperor Akbar’s regime. However, in  1624  AD, it was captured by Rustam Khan (the then Governor of Sambhal), who named it ‘Rustam Nagar.’ Later, in AD 1625, its name was changed to ‘Moradabad’ after the name of Prince Murad Baksh (the son of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan). A mosque named ‘Jama Masjid’ was constructed in the city by Rustam Khan for the Mughal Emperor.
