    History

    Built in the year 2014 on a total area of 13 acres it has been developed at a cost of Rs.6 crore by the Indian government. On 7 November 2014 the phase-1 garden was inaugurated by Shivraj Patil and the Phase-2 of the park was opened to the public on 4 June 2016. Both phases are connected by an underground tunnel which is beautifully decorated by Japanese paintings on both sides.

    It also consists of water bodies, waterfalls, a meditation center, a pagoda, a Buddha idol, and golden bamboo. This is the first garden in the city of Chandigarh that has a Japanese touch. There are many flower plants all over the garden. When the flowers bloom it looks majestic. The structures of the garden with a Japanese touch make this place different from others.
