History

Built in the year 2014 on a total area of 13 acres it has been developed at a cost of Rs.6 crore by the Indian government. On 7 November 2014 the phase-1 garden was inaugurated by Shivraj Patil and the Phase-2 of the park was opened to the public on 4 June 2016. Both phases are connected by an underground tunnel which is beautifully decorated by Japanese paintings on both sides.

Japanese garden in Chandigarh The magnificent Japanese garden is designed using Japanese architecture. The elements of this garden have been given a unique Japanese touch. This park has two phases and they are connected with each other by an underground tunnel which is also beautifully decorated with Japanese paintings.

It also consists of water bodies, waterfalls, a meditation center, a pagoda, a Buddha idol, and golden bamboo. This is the first garden in the city of Chandigarh that has a Japanese touch. There are many flower plants all over the garden. When the flowers bloom it looks majestic. The structures of the garden with a Japanese touch make this place different from others.
