The goal of Jhansi Smart City is to improve economic stability, sustainability, and the security of its residents. The authority made a plan based on the improvements of the city. It is said that, in 1613 AD, Raja Bir Singh Deo discovered Jhansi as Balwant Nagar. From ancient times, Jhansi faced so many battles and gradually it became the Smart City of North India.

According to the Swachh Survekshan 2018 rankings, Jhansi won the crown of being the cleanest city in Uttar Pradesh and also the ‘Fastest moving city’ in the North area. History

Jhansi has a long, remarkable history. It is a renowned place from the ancient times. It is very popular for the Rani Laxmi bai, who bravely fought against the British in 1857. It is the capital of North India among all princely states. The Government of India selected Jhansi for the Smart City initiative amongst 98 other cities on October 28, 2011. To bring this transformation, Jhansi Smart City Limited (JSCL) started its journey as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).
